When La Vida legend Stu first heard about the Royal Queensbury Club Championship – aka a black-tie charity boxing night – his first thought was “not a chance.” But after a few late-night second thoughts and a little push from the La Vida crew, he put his hand up… and his gloves on.
Backed by Team LV and inspired by the cause – raising funds for Toybox Australia to support sick and disadvantaged kids – Stu went all in. We’re talking 12 weeks of blood, sweat, and protein shakes. Five days a week. No prior boxing experience. Just serious grit and a truckload of determination.
Then came fight night. Cue the nerves, the catwalk, the spotlights, and the deafening cheer of supporters (and yes, a few iconic “Disco Stu” signs). Three rounds flew by in a blur. Stu stepped out of the ring with a win under his belt and helped punch through the million-dollar fundraising target.
Was it terrifying? Absolutely. Would he do it again? Let’s just say… he’s still icing his knuckles. But for Stu, the experience was about more than boxing. It was about saying yes to a massive challenge, stepping right outside his comfort zone, and doing something that made a real difference.
“It’s a night I’ll never forget – huge effort, huge support, and a huge cause. Can’t thank everyone enough.”
Nice one, Stu. You wore the gloves, but you led with heart. 🧡
