On Monday 13th October, a brave bunch of Vidas – Shannon, Stu, Seb, Lui and Danielle – swapped their comfy beds for office floors and benches to take part in A Night Without A Home, a fundraising event in support of the A Home for All Foundation.
Led by REA Group, the initiative brings together the Australian property industry to raise awareness and funds to ensure that everyone, no matter their circumstances, has a safe place to call home.
This year, the Foundation’s giving focus was on domestic and family violence, supporting those forced to leave unsafe living situations and rebuild their lives.
For one night, our team stepped out of their comfort zones and into someone else’s reality – sleeping on the concrete floor and kitchen benches of the La Vida office. It was a small gesture, but one that meant a lot. As one of WA’s biggest home builders, the cause struck close to home (literally).
“Everyone deserves a safe place to call home,” Danielle said. “It was a powerful reminder of how lucky we are – and how important it is to give back.”
The team came prepared – sleeping bags, snacks, and some very welcome entertainment courtesy of Lui’s hidden musical talents (plus a few rounds of Uno to keep spirits high). Even Lexi couldn’t resist joining in, turning up for a surprise cameo that made the night even more fun.
Between the laughs, late-night chats, and guitar tunes, there were also plenty of moments of reflection. “It really put things into perspective,” Danielle shared. “It made us grateful for what we have – and proud to be part of a team that cares about making a difference.”
Together, the crew raised an incredible $5,225 for the A Home for All Foundation. Huge thanks go out to everyone who supported them – from generous suppliers and family to the wider La Vida team who donated and cheered them on.
As for next year? Danielle says she might take a “bench seat” – apparently, the concrete floors were a little too real!
